What comes to your mind when talking about Chinese culture? Are they TCM and tea or Hanfu and sachet? Today we are here in Laoshan Academy, where 12 American university students will embark on a journey exploring Chinese culture. Let’s go and see!
今年是中美建交45周年，应青岛市邀请，美国加州州立大学长滩分校学生代表团来青访问。此次访问活动由青岛市及其友城长滩市共同发起。青岛市与长滩市于1985年结为友好城市，之后双方便开展了丰富多彩的民间交流项目，尤其是青年交流项目。
2024 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-American diplomatic relations. At the invitation of Qingdao, a delegation of students from California State University, Long Beach is visiting Qingdao. The trip was jointly initiated by Qingdao and its American sister city Long Beach. Qingdao and Long Beach became sisters in 1985 and have been engaged in a colorful array of people-to-people especially youth exchange programs ever since.

In the Morning of January 11th, students and teachers from California State University, Long Beach visited Laoshan Academy, made delicate sachets and experienced ancient Chinese protocols in an immersive way.
此访是习近平主席去年11月宣布未来5年愿邀请5万名美国青少年来华交流学习后全国接待的首批美国大学生代表团之一，也是山东省接待的首个美国友城大学生代表团。
Xi said in November, 2023 that China is ready to invite 50,000 young Americans in 5 years to boost exchanges. This delegation is one of the first American university student delegations initiated by China, and also the first one initiated by Shandong Province from an American sister city.
